2. DATA WE COLLECT
When you register and use Trail Jam, we collect the following personal data:
- Your name (Jam Name) and email address
- Your password (stored in encrypted form)
- Your avatar photo
- Your home pin location (latitude and longitude, manually provided)
- Your live session location (latitude and longitude, via device GPS, only when you choose to go live)
- Your weekly training schedule (activity, day, time, duration, and optional location per slot)
- Your WhatsApp number (if provided)
- Your Spotify Jam, Strava, and Runna profile URLs (if provided)
- Your notification preferences (nearby Jamster alerts)
- Payment information (processed by Stripe, we do not store card details)
3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
We use your data to provide and improve the Trail Jam service, including displaying your pin and profile on the community map, showing your training schedule and live session status to other members, processing your subscription payment, and communicating with you about your account. If you have enabled nearby alerts, we may email you when a new Jamster pins within 100 miles of your location. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. PUBLIC INFORMATION
Your Jam Name, avatar photo, home pin location, training goal, weekly training schedule, live session status, and any linked social URLs are displayed publicly on the Trail Jam map. When you go live, your live location and current activity are also publicly visible for the duration of your session. Your email address and WhatsApp number are never displayed publicly. WhatsApp contact buttons connect users via WhatsApp's own platform.
5. THIRD PARTIES
We use the following third-party services:
- Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim,map tiles and address search. No personal data is shared.
- CARTO,map tile hosting. No personal data is shared.
6. DATA RETENTION
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial purposes.
7. YOUR RIGHTS
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; the right to restrict or object to processing; and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@trailjam.co.uk.
8. COOKIES & STORAGE
Trail Jam uses browser localStorage and sessionStorage to remember your session preferences, including whether you have seen the welcome animation. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the site.
